    Pilates is a system of exercises designed to work your entire body as well as challenge your concentration. In this workshop we will first find our core. It is there! Once you can access those muscles, your workouts will become more effective, your posture better and your alignment safer. Next you will be taught a series of exercises that incorporate the Pilates principles of concentration, balance, flow, centering, and breath. Pilates is safe for all bodies, regardless of condition. No experience needed, under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a yoga mat. Mats will be available to use if you do not have one.

    Horseback Riding Lessons
    Students will be introduced to horse basics and safety. They will learn how to approach their horse in its stall, put its halter on, groom, and saddle their horse. In addition, students will learn about basic horse and equipment care. Long pants and shoes with a heal are necessary for safety and comfort. Riding helmets are required and will be provided.

    144100 - Spring Softball

    Teams will play double-headers one night per week for 4 weeks and will end the season with a double elimination tournament. Season will begin the week of April 6, weather permitting. Register early as leagues fill fast. Captain’s meeting will be held at the Birb Park Fieldhouse on Mar 22 at 6:00 pm. Mandatory rainouts for the Men’s league will be made up on Mondays and rainouts for the Coed league will be made up on Tuesdays.

    For the end of the season tournament the league will be split in half and the top teams will go to a bracket and the buttom to a bracket.

    151402 - Tai Chi In-a-Chair

    Therapeutic Tai Chi In-a-Chair© is a program of moderate movement, gentle stretching, and mindful breathing techniques for daily physical activity based on the traditional Tai Chi, Qigong, and Yoga techniques. The program was developed by Gary Paruszkiewicz with the guidance and input of Physiatrists, Neurologists, Physical and Occupational Therapists, along with Yoga teachers and Tai Chi/Qigong Masters, to be accessible for people of ALL ages and abilities to achieve and maintain a sense of wellness. This is a full-body, full range fitness routine. 90% of the routine is done while seated, and if able, students are encouraged to stand for a simple 9 Movement Tai Chi Form.

    165308 - Winter Spectactular

    A skating celebration of the holidays! Join us on Saturday, December 9 for the Winter Spectacular! For skaters interested in skating in the show, please see the below information.
    Soloists – For skaters in Freeskate 1 and up. All solos must be choreographed by an on staff coach during a private lesson. Program lengths will be 1:00-1:30 minutes depending on skater’s level. Skaters must supply their own costume and on ice props are allowed. $20.00 per skater

    Duets and Trios – For all skaters. Duet and trio practices will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 25 and December 5, 6:30-7:30 pm. There will be no makeups and skaters are required to attend these practices. Duets and trios will receive a 20 minutes lesson and a 40 minute practice time each week. Program lengths will be 1:00 minute. Skaters must supply their own costumes and on ice props are allowed. $20.00 per skater/per group.

    Skaters may skate in TWO programs (only one solo per skater). There will be 15 soloist’s slots and 18 duet and trio slots. Please have your music selections ready. Only one variation of each Christmas song will be allowed and all music selections are at the discretion of the Director of Figure Skating.

    Signups will begin at 5:00 pm on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 in the downstairs lobby of Ice Valley Centre and will conclude at 7:00 pm on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26 Payments are due by November 13.
